MRP Rules under Packaged Commodity Act
-
There has to be an MRP on every tin. There are no
rules as to relation between sales price of a manufacturer and MRP.
-
There can be more than one MRP for the same
product.
-
As per section 39(1) of Packaged Commodity Rules
MRP can put by label. MRP can be changed by removing the old label
and fixing a new label. If MRP has been printed on the tin, the
printing has to be scratched before putting a new label. There
should not be label on label.
-
"FOR INDUSTRIAL USE" MRP is not required. (With
for industrial use label MRP is required only if packing is less
than 5lts or 5 kgs. and is displayed in the shop for retail sale)
